One of the more useful features that exist in Windows Phone 8 is the ability to share your internet connection with other WiFi devices especially when your phone is connected to LTE. In this How to Windows Phone post, we will walk you through the steps to setup internet sharing on your Windows Phone however you must first make sure that your wireless plan supports this feature. If you are not sure you have the feature on your phone, go ahead and follow the instructions as your phone will tell you if you do not have the feature.
Turning on Internet Sharing on Windows Phone
To enable internet sharing on your Windows Phone go to the Settings screen by swiping the start screen from Left to right and going down to “Settings”.
While in the settings screen tap on “internet sharing”
Once you are in internet sharing you can toggle the feature on or off. Your phone has a default SSID which you can change by tapping setup at the bottom of the screen.
After tapping Setup, you will see the option to change the SSID to something a bit more familiar and also put in a password so people do not sneak onto your network without your permission. Notice the icon at the top that denotes internet sharing is turned on.
