In addition to the regular “patch Tuesday” updates where Microsoft Pushes out software fixes and enhancements, the Surface Pro and Surface RT devices received firmware updates as well. In the update Microsoft looked to fix up some Wi-Fi issues on both devices while the Surface RT saw some volume issues fixed.

Here are the March updates for Surface RT

The March cumulative update includes improved Surface Wi-Fi reliability, connectivity in various scenarios, and performance improvements including:

  • Fixes to Wi-Fi reliability allowing for better roaming and improvements to “Limited” connectivity scenarios.
  • Resolves issues with integrated volume button.
  • Improved Type and Touch cover typing experience on soft surfaces and when devices and keyboard are lying flat.
  • Resolves issue with random muting.
  • Trackpad performance improvements.

 

Here are the March updates for the Surface Pro

  • Windows To Go feature is enabled.
  • Improved onscreen keyboard detection synchronization when going in and out of sleep.
